ATE participation at the High Level Symposium on the role of the Judiciary on the ease of doing business in Tanzania

ATE CEO was invited to be the main speaker on the topic of ‘The Impact of the Labour Disputes Resolution on the Business Climate’ which was one of the panels at the High-Level Symposium on the Role of the Judiciary in the Ease of Doing Business Organized by the Judiciary of Tanzania, the British High Commission and the Delegation of the European Union with the Support of the Building sustainable Anti -Corruption Action in Tanzania, Dodoma on the 31st January 2023.

The CEO spoke of the Benefits of a Robust Labour Dispute Resolution system and its attraction to Investors and businesses. She also presented on the Challenges that Businesses face when they make unfavorable decisions; delays; conflicting decisions; punitive decisions, among others. She called on the Judiciary to interpret the law in a manner that promotes economic development through economic efficiency, productivity, and social justice.

 

The Panel was Chaired by Hon. Mr. Justice January H. Msoffe, retired Justice of Appeal and the chairperson, Law Reform Commission of Tanzania and discussed by Mr. Frank Mwalongo, Advocate and Managing Partner Apex Attorneys Advocates. This presentation was made to the Chief Justice of Tanzania, the Former Chief Justice, Justices of Appeal, Judges of the High Court and other stakeholders of the Judiciary.
