The Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) in collaboration with the Chinese Business Chamber of Tanzania, the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO)on  Monday 29thJuly 2019 in Dar Es Salaam successfully conducted a High-Level Stakeholders  Meetingbetween Top Chinese Businesses in Tanzania to discuss opportunities for Chinese Investors and general business challenges faced by Chinese companies. 

Addressing the meeting Executive Director of The Association of Tanzania Employers Dr. Aggrey Mlimuka said that ATE and the mentioned partners have been working together in several activities which are employment and labour related to improve Chinese Business Community in Tanzania for better productivity and competitiveness.

‘‘Like other employers in Tanzania, Chinese businesses still face many challenges in relation to employment and labour specifically compliance with local labour laws, employment of workers, termination of employment, hours of work, leave, renumeration  issues , work and resident permit issues , workers compensations and taxations thus why we have been organising such kind of meetings so as to  hear from the Chinese businesses and discuss on these challenges and how we can work together to address them.,’’ Dr. Mlimuka said.

The High-Level Consultative Meeting between top Chinese Businesses was successfully attended by representatives from Chinese Business Community, ATE Management Board Members, Stakeholders, Trade Union Congress of Tanzania (TUCTA), Immigration Department, Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA, Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and top Government Officials.
